i will do
a thousand little things
i will do these things
for your love

i will prove my love
with the sheer quantity of
these thousand little things
and you will see that
i would do anything
within reason
for your love

i will work out more
for your love
i will reduce my carb intake
for your love
i will dress better
i will smell better
for your love

sometimes
i will slow down
for your love
i will follow open container laws
for your love
i will come to a complete stop
i will signal
i will yield
for your love

i will shoplift less
for your love
i will not torture small animals
as much
for your love

i will lie less
i will cheat less
i will betray less
i will murder for money less
and so on
and so on
anything you wish
i will consider not doing
for your love

i will be kinder and gentler
for your love
i will be less paranoid
and jealous
and violent
for your love
for you i will do
a thousand little things

you make me want to be
a slightly better man.
